Off to Kentucky, 2014

July 29, 2014

“We are off again with a group from the Williamston, Michigan, Free Methodius Church. The project is to help build a new Girls Dormitory at the Oakdale Christian Academy In Jackson, KY. Below is some information from their website to help understand the goals of the school. You can find information at

If you are looking for a Christian boarding school, Oakdale Christian Academy is eager to serve! We serve students from across the U. S. and abroad, enrolling students from as far away as India, China, Ethiopia, and Rwanda, and from as nearby as Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, Illinois, as well as right here in Kentucky.

Oakdale Christian Academy is fully accredited. The college placement rate of our graduates is eighty percent, with 100 percent of our 2011 graduates completing their first year of college, and each of our 2012 graduates accepted into a college or university for the current year.

Our students live and learn in a Christ-centered community where faculty and staff live on campus and create a nurturing environment that positively impacts our students.  We are affiliated with the Free Methodist Church – USA, but serve students regardless of any church background. We welcome your inquiry and look forward to speaking with you!”

Here are a few pictures of the dormitory as it looked when we visited in June of this year.

The inside of the dorm. was still in need of a lot of work when we were there but hopefully a lot more will be done when we return.

We will see what is left to do when we arrive and look forward to doing good works for the Kingdom of Jesus.
