Costa Rica, 2014

January 26, 2014

My wife and I will be off on a new adventure to help build a church in Costa Rica in March. We will be traveling to Costa Rica with a Work & Witness team from the “Pierpont Church of the Nazarene”, Morgantown, West Virginia.

The following is a description of the project as listed on the Nazarene Work and Witness website.

The Poas church is the largest and most influential church of the area. It outgrew its building in town and were challenged by God to purchase land on the edge of the city. Though it seemed impossible, God proved his faithfulness by providing a down payment through Alabaster funds, and then miraculous providing the monthly payments for 5 years. They now own the property they call La Finca, or The Farm. There is no structure on the property capable of seating this 260 + member congregation, so they are currently meeting under and around the old garage. They dream of building a multi-use structure for everything from church services and classes to sporting events and outreach events to the local community. They have a big vision, but they know that they serve a big God! Update: The church in Poas continues to pour their effort and resources into this structure.

We are excited to be part of the team and we are praying that we can be His hands and feet to the people we meet in Costa Rica.
