Oklahoma City, 2013, Part two

October 17, 2013

It’s Monday morning and it’s time to go to work. We are up at Six thirty and off to devotions at seven. After devotions we start the day with a good breakfast and then it’s off to the work site. When we reached the first house there was some discussion about how to build a partition to divide the bedroom from the laundry room. After getting agreement from the homeowner some of the crew left to get material. I worked with others to remove some storage shelves and rearrange them to clear the way for the new wall.

The stairs to the attic had to be removed and turned around to make room for the wall as well.

Another part of the team worked on removing an old wood fence next to the neighbor’s house. There was also a small section of chain-link fence to go as well. A small section will be replaced to close in the back yard to keep the dog in.

Another project was to assemble a chest of drawers for the homeowner.

Some of us went to the house in Norman to measure for material needed to repair the house. While we were doing this one of the team members volunteered to mow the lawn for both Judy and her mother Dorothy to wrap up our work day.

We were served both lunch and dinner at the Midwest Free Methodist Church. After dinner we went back to our dormitory at the Church of the Harvest. God has blessed us this day as we al made it back safely but tired and ready for bed.
