Denmark 2013, Day Ten

September 20, 2013

We are in the final days of our journey for Christ and have mixed emotions about our experience here in Denmark. We love the people and find everyone we have met to be warm and friendly, always with a smile and a kind word. Our sadness is when we find out only five percent of the people are christen even though most belong to the Lutheran church very few attend. We pray for the salvation of the people in Denmark and give thanks for the people who volunteer in the Sweet Surrender coffee-house who continue to development friendships with whoever enters in hopes of being able to share the Gospel with them and lead them to eternal salvation.

We attend Sunday services at the Greve church and enjoy a lunch with some of the church members. Some of the team members put on a puppet show for the children and we all sang songs in English and enjoyed a great sermon. We also met some visiting missionaries from Sweden, Phil and Juliene who told us of their hopes to start a coffee-house in Malmo, Sweden, just across the bridge from Copenhagen.

After lunch we are off on another adventure. We head north along to coast of the Bearing Sea to visit the Frederiksborg Castle. The Frederiksborg Castle built around 1600-1625 by King Christian IV (Ruled Denmark and Norway 1588-1648) and best known as the great builder of Copenhagen. The castle is a cultural treasure chest and covers two decades of architectural glory as well as being a national monument – placed on 3 small islets on Frederiksborg Castle Lake just in the center of Hillerød Town.

What a treasure of history of Denmark now a museum open for everyone to see what it must have been like to be royalty in past centuries.

The castle grounds are  just as impressive as the castle it’s self.

What a memorable Sunday we have spent here in Denmark. The Lord has truly blessed us to be able to see His kingdom around the world. We go to bed tonight knowing tomorrow will be the end of this part of our adventure as we do some final sightseeing and spend the afternoon trying to finish up some of the work at the coffee-house.
