Denmark 2013, Day Five

August 29, 2013

Another day with great weather. When we planned for this trip we checked the internet and it said the average high temperatures was in the high 60’s F.(20 C) so we brought warmer clothes to wear. The temperatures have been in the high 80’s F. (31 C) and I only have two pairs of short pants so we are washing them out so I will have clean ones to wear each day but we are happy to have the nice weather to work and play in.
Got up early today and took a walk in a park next door to the pastors house. I found out we were close enough to the Baltic Sea to walk down to the sea shore but did not have enough time to do that today. This will be on my agenda for some night when we get back early enough in the evening.

We are off again today to work but some of us will stay at the church after breakfast and devotions to do some painting and work on the gardens and shrubs. Some of the team had stayed behind yesterday and sanded some doors and trip to get it ready to paint. We took down the doors and moved them outside to be painted.

While the doors were being painted several of the girls worked on painting the trim in the church entrance.

?????????? ?????????? ??????????We headed back to the coffee house for lunch following a GPS to find it but the GPS took us to down town Copenhagen. We tried to reprogram the GPS but because it was in Danish we were not able to do it so after getting some directions from a local dress shop we were able to find Sweet Surrender Coffee House and arrived just one hour late. (Another Adventure)

After lunch we all worked on the coffee house. Several of the men were working hard in the meeting room, adding wood strips to the wall so it could be covered with drywall of sheet rock.

The crew had finished stripping old plaster from the end wall of the meeting room. We spent the afternoon adding a thin coat of mortar over the bricks to fill in all of the gaps but still leave the bricks showing for some texture. The mortar would be troweled on and them wiped with a damp sponge to remove the excess.

The area were the shelves were removed in the meeting room and all of the repairs to the brick work completed.

While all of this was being done some of the women were helping in the kitchen while the staff served customers in the coffee house.

After the day is done and a great meal at the coffee house we are back to the pastors house in time to take a walk down to the sea shore. The pastor led the way down a nice tree lined path to the seashore.

What a glorious ending to the day with clear water, seeing people swimming and being able to look across the bay and see Sweden. No matter were we go we are able to see Gods work and the awesome beauty he creates.

Genesis 1:11-13 New International Version (NIV)

11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
