Denmark 2013, Day Three

August 21, 2013

Today is Sunday and we are ready to worship. We are up and off the Greve Church of the Nazarene. We start off with a great breakfast as usual prepared by several of the women of the team. The Sweet Surrender coffee house is closed today so we will attend church services and the do some sight seeing. We get a big surprise today when we find out we will get to hear the very first sermon from an young man name Annais, who has just been granted a preaching license.

The next surprise is the sermon will be in English and translated back to Danish for some of the parishioners who do not speak English. The sermon was from Hosea chapter 1 and part of chapter 2, Hosea instructions from God.

After the service we get some time to interface with the church members and have lunch. Then we went into Copenhagen for a walking tour of the city. Copenhagen is a very old city which was spared the destruction many European cities suffered in world war two. We were amazed at all of the grand old buildings and statues we see as we walk around. This is beyond my ability to describe so just enjoy the pictures.

We then climbed aboard a tour boat to take a tour of the canals of Copenhagen.

After the boat tour we walked to the Royal Palace, the home of the Royal family.

Overall it was a grand day and we are all exhausted from the walking. We decide to eat in town and look for someplace open on a Sunday evening and all we can find is a McDonalds. We were all surprised to find out that a value meal costs between $13.00 and $15.00 American dollars. With a full belly we head back to our temporary homes to get some sleep so we can be ready to go back to work on Monday morning.
