Papua New Guniea (PNG) via Australia #2

December 25, 2010

Well I am safely here in Australia staying at the Nazarene Theological College (NTC). What beautiful county here around Brisbane, there are lots of birds and other wildlife and every thing is very green here. It has rained almost every day, they tell me they have had a 10 year drought here, but this year the rain has caused a lot of flooding. The good news is all of their reservoirs are full for the first time in years.

I have seen a lot of wildlife hopping around. I have seen wallabies, blue toungh lizards, rainbow lorikeet, golden orb spiders, etc.

I took the train to downtown Brisbane last week to see some of the city. We are about 30 K. from the city. The Brisbane river winds through the city with boats that go up and down the river called City Cats. For about $13.50 you can get an all day pass to ride all public transportation, i.e. train, bus, City Cats. The exchange rate for Austrailian dollars is almost 1:1 with American dollars.

As I wait here for my work permit to go to PNG I am thankful to have a place to stay and am looking forward to Christmas. I have been invited to Christmas dinner with the college Principle and his family.

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Don’t forget Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ who came to earth to give us salvation and everlasting life. The best gift we could receive.

I hope you all find the blessing of the Christmas Spirit.

Welcome to “sunny” Queensland. We have never had so much rain in such a short period of time. Do hope it clears up soon, before you go to PNG. IN the meantime thank you for all the maintenance you are doing at Nazarene Theological College, here in Brisbane.
